Uneasy Rhetoric

I think Heckasac hit the nail on the head.  Rather than locate at the old Andiamo (which I remember as the Rosemont Grill — that’s how old I am) as planned, Good Eats’ funders realized that they had the power and the cash to both locate in a bigger space and wipe out some major competition in one fell swoop. They’re targeting Corti’s demographic; as the Bee describes it, I doubt any of the mainstream groceries or Trader Joe’s will really encroach on the “Good Eats” turf.

The fact that Corti Bros. must relocate is a done deal. But hopefully the sheer outpouring of support from the community will:

1. Ensure that Corti Bros will survive far into the future in a new location and
2. That location will continue to be relatively close to where the action is.

Margaret started a new blog at http://savecortibros.blogspot.com/ to chronicle the institution’s impending move and, hopefully, phoenix-like ressurection as well as, no doubt, the attempt to boycott Corti’s nouveau replacement.

Besides, they’re going to give me heartburn every time I watch Alton Brown.
