Uneasy Rhetoric

I’ve expressed my absolute 100 percent undying ambivalence about the Joe Sun issue over at Sac Rag. There’s an excellent conversation going on there about Joe Sun’s fight with the City over its future.

I want to see that block redeveloped. At this point, I don’t see any other solution to the long-term blight in that section of K Street but rebuilding. Joe Sun can’t anchor that corner all by itself. However, how well the City and the developer work with Joe Sun for an equitable solution will say a lot about the City’s commitment to local businesses, especially local businesses that have weathered some of K Streets worst storms.
