Uneasy Rhetoric

For a science fiction audience who have had the last three Star Wars movies shoved down their throats like so much pureed peas, Serenity is caviar. But, like caviar, the movie will be an aquired taste. It will appeal far more to those already familiar with the Firefly series. Better than perhaps two-thirds of the episodes of the series, but not quite among the best stories, Serenity at times doesn’t quite fill the big screen.

Still I hardily recommend it to anyone who appreciates good science fiction and who might have a soft spot for sci-fi fandom because you are or have been a fan. This movie is definetly a love letter to all those who fought to keep Firefly on the air. I certainly count myself among the series’ rabid fans.

I’d say more, but anything else would be spoiler.

Oh, and Doom looks like ass.
