Mad Rush at Apple Time.
Tags: sacramentoSac-eats posts over at The Sac Rag about Apple Hill. I admit, I’ve only been to the Hill twice, both times while I was in high school, so my memory of where I went is more than a little cloudy. Still, I can remember friends in school from probably kindergarten on talking about going to Apple Hill. It is the ultimate family experience. Or a really good way for parents to grow sick and tired of kids who are sick and tired of driving through molasses slow traffic, searching for parking, and gorging on apple-everything.
Parents should take heart in the fact that (younger) kids may complain during the trip, but when they get to school, they regale losers like me with tales of all the cool stuff they saw and the fact that they got to eat sugar-coated apple-y everything. Older kids really were embarrassed by you the whole time, and will tell their friends about it.
Still, sac-eats’ post is missing just one thing: a link to applehill.com. You didn’t think it was just a bunch of farmers, sitting on the porch of the general store, plottin’ to a bring dem city folk up an git ‘em to spend money, did you? No, Apple Hill is an honest to god trade association, and on their site you’ll find a guide and maps.
