Uneasy Rhetoric

In checking Carl’s blog today (because I’ve been sloppy with Bloglines and was afraid I might have missed something), I came across an old post of his advocating for a Sacramento streetcar line similar to the urban streetcar (really, an Eastern-European style streetcar) in Portland.

This week, RT has been running the PG&E old-style rail-based trolley through Downtown. Every so often you can hear that old whistle blow. I had been wondering why they pulled it out this week and figured it probably wasn’t for the Monarchs (Yay Monarchs!).

Sacramento Regional Transit is hosting a “Capital Area Streetcar Summit” tomorrow. That’s probably why they pulled it out. They are advocating for bringing streetcars back to Sacramento.
