Uneasy Rhetoric

It is an infernally crowded hike on weekends, easy to get to, with parking and facilities. Nevertheless, it is a challenging hike over both marked and unmarked trail, with incredible views. Not bad for less than two hours from Sacramento and even closer to Lake Tahoe. But on a cool, overcast, weekday morning? We probably saw a total of eight people and once we got away from the highway, only the buzzing planes reminded us of how close to civilization we were.
