Curtis Park Village. Oops.
Tags: sacramentoI’m feeling a bit ornery. In my occasional forays into the Curtis Park area, I always wondered what would be happening to the expanse of vacant land next to the railroad tracks.
Now I know. It looks like the ten month environmental review process that began in August 2004 might just be ending, so perhaps we’ll hear soon if there’s a go ahead on the project (or maybe it’s done and I’m not paying enough attention). It looks to be a mix of single family and multi-family housing with the requisite space for some kind of big-boxer or supermarket.
What especially interests me, however, are the pictures on the project details page. There are three. The first is a panoramic shot of the land in question. The second is a generic shot of a home that looks like it could easily be a home in Curtis Park. The third is a picture of an attractive brick building with banners outside.
The third picture is of Zupan’s Market on Southeast 34th and Belmont in Portland, Oregon. They could at least have used a picture of the Safeway on 19th Street. It’s the same kind of mixed-use, supermarket-anchored, development, and it’s in the same state!
(thanks to my wife for pointing it out!)
