What’s the matter Abe, Are the Rivercats not good enough for you? Have you no civic pride?

From the Portland Business Journal:

One of the Sacramento area’s most active developers has cut a deal to become majority owner of the Portland Beavers Triple-A baseball team.

Abe Alizadeh leads a group of investors who formed Portland Baseball Investment Group, which has agreed to buy the Beavers as well as the Portland Timbers professional soccer team. Both teams play at PGE Park in Portland.

Politicians have trophy wives (or husbands), actors have their mansions (aka “cribs”), skanks have their sex tapes, rap stars have their pimped out SUVs, and real estate developers have their professional sports teams. Everyone needs some bling.

Even better, who do the Rivercats play for their first four home games? The Portland Beavers.
