Thank *you* for a great program. I'll probably check out SK2 soon, and I'm glad to see you're still working on it.

Hey there,

Thanks for the kind and reasonable words regarding the catch-22 that is efficient spam-catching...

If you are having any trouble with SK (and even if you aren't), you might wanna give a quick look at SK2 alpha. Not yet quite finished, but getting there fast, and already sensibly better than SK1 (especially for false positives).

At any rate, a public beta should be out along with WP 1.5.1 (which corrects some bugs that makes installing SK2 a bit harder than it should be, at the moment).

Once the usual beta roadbumps will have been fixed, I expect SK2 to pretty much bring the final word on the blog spam wars (both on the side of bad guys getting stopped and good guys not being annoyed too much).

Cheers!

I had the same thought as you when I read Jonas Luster's post. I've been using SK for about a month and I love it. Especially, after not having to delete 300-500 bad comments every other day.

My regular visitors let me know when SK out of the box prevented them from commenting. I tweaked it for them and hopefully if someone new has trouble, they'll let me know via email. Not likely, but better than the alternative.

I appreciate that people who have to jump through hoops aren't likely to take the time to leave a comment and perhaps won't even visit anymore, but that's a chance I've decided to take.
