iTunes Woes
Tags: techDear Apple:
As soon as you announced the iPod shuffle, I knew I had to have one. I also noticed I would have to update to iTunes Version 4.7.1. Since it would be a few weeks before I would be able to buy one, I decided to go ahead and upgrade my iTunes software.
Big mistake. It appears that Apple decided to release a new version of iTunes that still does not address a problem it has installing under Windows XP SP2. Let me rephrase that: “…addressing the fact that it doesn’t install under XP SP2.” I’m not the only one having these problems.
The solution seems to be to uninstall SP2, install iTunes, then reinstall SP2. Why is this acceptable? Why are we so willing to blame MS instead of the Fruit? Face it: Apple’s programmers are asleep on this one. It plainly states on Apple’s site that you need “the latest service packs” in order to use the latest iTunes. Obviously you’re better off with SP1.
I love Apple’s products, and find iTunes to be an excellent music player, but if I have to uninstall and reinstall XP service packs whenever I want to (or have to) update iTunes, I’m going to crack.
Please Apple - some of us might want to be Mac users, but find ourselves in a Windows world. Throw us a bone here and try to fix this problem.
Sincerely,
I love my iTunes. Why does it hurt me so?
