Uneasy Rhetoric

This blog is about language, politics, and whatever else interests me at the moment. Call it a progressive blog. I use WordPress to build this blog. Originally I coded my own php and mySQL, but that got tedious, and WordPress is shiny and keen.

To those of you seeking in-depth knowledge about language and rhetoric, you should know that I am not a linguist in the same way that a birdwatcher is not an ornithologist. I am also not a rhetorician, although I have a little training.

I do have a long history of political involvement and have been employed in and around politics and policy my entire adult life. I like to think I have something to say, but so much has been said that I don’t know what I’ll add to the discussion. I post infrequently for that reason. I over-edit for that reason. The rhetoric is uneasy for that reason.
