It can’t be easy running a business on K street when you’re right in the middle between the shopping center and the convention center. But, I guess, even though there are three Subways, a Quiznoes, and countless deli’s in the area, there’s also a spot for Blimpie.

Another chain like Subway and with similar offerings. They get the bonus half because of sheer personality. It looks like this Blimpie is a family run franchise, and the people are friendly and make double-sure that you’re getting the sandwich you ordered.

Unlike Subway, Blimpie offers some of their sandwiches toasted. I recommend having the pastrami toasted. Pastrami sandwiches are better hot anyway.

This place can get busy during the lunch hour - although I’ve had plenty of pleasant lunches eating in, it’s probably best to get your sandwich to go.

Two and a half stars because it’s a chain but with personality.
