Uneasy Rhetoric

I’ve been listening off and on today to Air America Radio, the new set of liberal talk radio programs.

I’m not overly impressed - sure, I’m glad to know that there is a liberal voice, in addition to Jim Hightower - because I’m not a big fan of talk radio to begin with. If I’ve got the radio going for background noise, I’d much rather be listening to music.

Still, I wish them well, and I’m glad to see they’ve already got some big name advertisers. And why not? After all, liberals buy cars too. What surprised me though were the ads for the Navy. I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me. The military should whore itself to any potential audience just like auto makers do.

Nor should it surprise me that a liberal talk radio service would have Navy ads. In fact, I say Bravo! Here’s to taking the advertisers money and still saying things to piss them off! Bravo!
