Teriyaki to Go **

Teriyaki to Go **
910 J St. Multiple visits.
Less than $7.
When I passed the sign that said “Home of the 64oz Prime Rib,” I knew I was hallucinating. I probably shouldn’t buy candy bars from that convenience store.
Teriyaki to Go isn’t a Teriyaki van. It isn’t a window on the street, or a guy with a hot cart, or a delivery service. It is just as easy to dine in as to take out, and on the few times I’ve been there finding seating has been difficult. This is one of the few restaurants where I’ve seen perfect strangers share a table.
On the other hand, lets face it, it’s a bowl of rice with chiken on top and some teriyaki sauce. Simple, boring, cheap. They do offer teriyaki salads and a noodle bowl which includes some vegetables in addition to the meat and teriyaki sauce. They also have combo plates, which I haven’t tried.
The food is filling (large portions) and good; if you order a noodle bowl it does take a little longer to prepare than the rice bowl - don’t be surprised if people behind you in line get their meals first if you order the noodles.
Did I mention cheap?
